JAKARTA – PT Daya Radar Utama successfully launched one unit of Harbor Tug boat owned by PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Persero) which was built in the shipyard of Jakarta, Tanjung Priok, on Thursday (23/2).

The launching of the ship which was held in the morning at 07.00 WIB. The event was attended by the Board of Commissioners and Board of Directors of PT Pelindo III (Persero) and DRU, among others, President Director Orias Petrus Moedak, President Commissioner Laks. Madja Purn TNI Hari Bowo, Director of Commercial and Operations Mohammad Iqbal.

From DRU present Director Amir Gunawan, Managing Director Agus Gunawan, Director Steven A. Prana and M. Affandy. “This ship is very special for us because it was designed by the world’s top ship disigner Robert Allan,” said Agus Gunawan in his speech.

He explained the disign of Robert Allan is a unit and not easy to work, but Pelindo III entrusted the development of the harbor tug to DRU. “We are very grateful and grateful for the trust given,” he added.

Director of Commercial and Operations of PT Pelindo III (Persero) Mohammad Iqbal said the procurement of this vessel is part of the tug boat fleet rejuvenation plan which is currently on average 19 years old even for pilot vessels alone the average age reaches 21 years.

He explained with the addition of this ship and 11 units of vessels that will soon be held, the average age of ship owned by Pelindo III is expected to be 5 years in the next three years. “Now there are still our tugboats that were born in the 1970s,” he said.
